The O3 welcomes Banbury artist Christine O’Sullivan to display City Limits, a collection of bold
canvasses combining strong colours and lines, inspired by the architectural urban landscapes of
New York City.
Christine O’Sullivan’s work takes pure abstraction into the world around us as she delights us with her
vibrant use of colour and stimulates us with simplification of form. Working in series, the elements that
make up an urban landscape – grid sheet patterns, road markings, neon colours, all find their way
into her paintings. These elements abstracted result in a discordant mix of form and colour that
resonate with the feel of the city.
Christine gradutated from De Montfort University with a degree in Fine Art and Art History, before
gaining her Masters from Cheltenham and Gloucester College. As well her previous exhibitions in
venues such as Oxford’s Said Business School, Chipping Norton’s Theatre Gallery and the Mill Arts
Centre in Banbury, Christine has also curated a number of shows by other artists and is heavily
involved in Oxfordshire Art Weeks, acting as the area coordinator for the Cherwell District. As a
practicing artist Christine is constantly developing her techniques and is happy to take commissions.
