The O3 Gallery would like to welcome Chris Perrett
to exhibit his recent collection of semi-abstract landscapes
and abstract compositions. Entitled ESCAPE, this exhibition
focuses on Perrett’s fascination with the powerful
emotions conjured up by the great outdoors and how
he can reflect this in his studies of the UK countryside.
Chris
Perrett was born in Warwickshire, where he lived until
the age of 17. Drawing & painting from
an early age, Chris was encouraged by his family to be creative.
After his formal art training at Wimbledon School of Art in London, Chris went
on to enjoy an exciting
& challenging career as a Creative Director in advertising & design. During this
time Chris had the opportunity to visit many countries & whilst these were very
inspiring he has always been drawn by the diversity & splendor of the UK landscape.
ESCAPE is a collection of paintings featuring semi-abstract & abstract work with
inspiration from Chris’ travels throughout the UK. Whilst living in Oxfordshire,
Chris also finds inspiration from much of his time spent in Dorset.
“I have always been drawn to the beauty of our landscape & the honesty & majesty
of the coastline. It is from my travels & time spent on the coast where I have
the most inner emotions, which I have strived to interpret into my work. A painting
can be a very personal dialogue between artist &
viewer, making a statement or connection with a memory”. Chris Perret t, 2009.
At present his work is being exhibited in Bournemouth & has also been exhibited
in Worcester Cathedral & Ross on Wye.
